One of the biggest disappointments in seeing who was likely to follow Lance to Team Radio Shack was reading that Sergio Paulinho would likely stay with Astana and possibly follow Contador. The 29 year old Portuguese rider rode support for Contador during his two Tour de France victories.
Sergio is one of, if not the best, support riders today. I put him in the same category as George Hincapie and Jens Voigt.
Today, all that has changed. It has been reported that Paulinho has signed a two year deal with Team Radio Shack! Of all the names reported so far as Team Radio Shack riders, I believe this is the most important. His support in the mountain stages is invaluable.
Also reported today is the signing of Jose Azevedo as a director. Jose rode with Lance during his last two Tour de France wins.
