athletes must. I thought the following article was interesting, so I am stepping away a bit from the theme of my blog to share it. Besides I have seen nothing to change my predictions on the TDF, yet.
Impotent Pills Banned for Athletes
February 11th, 2009 by Daniel Wright
After the 2008 Beijing Olympics an official statement is published by the International Olympics Association that erectile dysfunction (ED) pills are banned for the Athletes, if at all you any traces of Sildenafil, Tadalafil, or Vardenafil are found in the blood of these Athletes they will not be allowed to compete in the Olympics. They have also issued the report that the athletes can take these drugs, but should stop taking these medicines at least before 6 months of the Olympics tournaments, this will help them to wash out the traces of the ED pills completely out of their body, and thus no traces will be noted in the blood tests that are conducted before the tournament. The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) has classified Viagra, Cialis, and Levitra as performance enhancing and therefore prohibited for use in all athletes.
Previous researches have showed that cyclists who used the Viagra tablets at high altitudes had a significantly improved performance. The drug has also been used by mountaineers to improve the absorption of oxygen at high altitudes and in one case was even credited with saving the life of someone suffering from altitude sickness. The ban on these drugs was issued after it was observed that some athletes took these drugs during the Olympics. This drug gave athletes the ability to compete in their sports better other athletes, but some athletes used them because they have a genuine erectile dysfunction problem. The ban on the Viagra, Cialis and Levitra had left the athletes in great dilemma as they will have to choose between performing legitimately in their chosen sports or having a good sex life.
The World Anti-Doping Agency had previously having a doubt that whether EX pills can be taken as the performance enhancers. So, they took the test of the few athletes and found the traces of the active constituents in the blood of these athletes. So, they were sure these men are taking these drugs, but still they were confused whether they are taking it to overcome impotence or for improving there performance during the tournaments. So, they conducted the study in which they gave these medicines in fixed quantity to some teenage students who were participating in the Sports Day in their College. The guys who had taken these pills were to be find out at there best and nearly won all the games in which they participated. The research workers at the World Anti-Doping Agency were astonished by seeing the performance of the guys who had taken the ED pills. Thus, it was confirmed from the study the ED pills enhance the performance of the men not only in bed but also in general sense.
ED pills works as the inhibitor of the enzyme PDE-5 that disturbs the blood supply to the penis and also to the different parts of the body. The intake of the ED pills gives men an erection for about 4 to 6 hours once he is sexually stimulated, but according to the World Anti-Doping Agency, if the sexual stimulation is missing these drugs acts as the performance enhancers. These drugs improve the blood circulation in the body and give a feeling of euphoria. The improved blood circulation makes the muscles stiff and strong and certainly increases the men’s stamina. Thus, these drugs along with the improvement in the sexual appetite also improve the general health status making men to perform better than his usual performance.
The research study was soon published in many journals and then the use of the ED pills became really agonizing for the athletes as they have to sacrifice their sex life for their carriers. So, even the athletes association opposed the decision of the International Olympics Association and finally both the sides agreed on the decision that athletes will stop taking the ED pills six months before the tournament so that no traces of them are found in the blood of the athletes and thus they are verified to participate in the Olympics.

Hey Joe how are you doing,
I just wanted to say I wish I could go riding that would be a dream come true.
Ok....are meds for ED a performance enhancing drug that we don't know about. They can't be serious about this can they. Why don't they focus they're efforts on the real cheaters. These men have this problem and they're trying to live with it as best they can and still do the thing that they love and that's riding...WTF is wrong with this picture.
Thanks for posting the article and just wanted to say really love your blog.
Take Care

I understand that these ED drugs are supposed to help with breathing.
I can't see that because frankly.
the close my sinuses and I have difficulty breathing when using.
Good article
Haha, that's really funny. They really weren't kidding when they called 'em "performance enhancing" drugs eh? Nice post.
I'm glad I'm not an athlete with ED.
Don't understand. When I use these drugs, I get headaches, slinus's clog up and I have no desire to kill myself on a bike.
